On September 22-23 in Warsaw, the international conference on Vitamin D – “Vitamin D – minimum, maximum, optimum” EVIDAS was held for the third time. Our brand Naturell was the official partner of the conference.
Outstanding experts and lecturers from Poland, many European countries, Israel, Canada, and the USA were invited to participate in the event. The special guest was Prof. Michael Holick, an American endocrinologist specializing in vitamin D, who, among other achievements, established the mechanism of vitamin D synthesis in the skin and identified the circulating form of vitamin D in human blood as 25(OH)D.
The aim of the conference was to raise awareness among the public and the medical community about the role that vitamin D plays in the development and functioning of the human body—children, adolescents, working adults, and seniors. According to the latest research published in the Polish Archives of Internal Medicine, a low level of this vitamin is noted among the majority of its residents. This is due to lifestyle factors, including insufficient sun exposure, but primarily because of the geographical conditions of our country—due to the angle of sunlight from September to April, skin synthesis is not ensured even on sunny days. Studies have shown that 89.9% of the surveyed Poles had a 25(OH)D concentration below the desirable level of 30 ng/ml, and in Koszalin, Wrocław, or Bydgoszcz, the average amount of 25 (OH)D does not even exceed 16 ng/ml. This shows how necessary preventive actions are to supplement our low vitamin D levels and how important safe supplementation is in this area.
Recognizing the role of vitamin D in the functioning of our body, the brand Naturell is involved in spreading knowledge about the rational use of vitamin D. Their offerings include products with vitamin D3 (D3 1000, 2000, 4000 IU) and K2 MK-7. Thanks to their innovative form – the INSTANT chewable tablet – daily supplementation is much easier, especially since we should take vitamin D for a minimum of 8 months a year.
